Covenant Congregational Church invites you to take a 40 Day Journey in God's Word. Each day of Lent (March 5 to April 19) we will read through the book of Exodus together, one chapter each day excluding Sundays. Our hopes are two-fold: that you will grow in life-changing ways as you encounter God in the Scriptures; and that the exercises along the way will help you get more out of reading the Bible at all times. Join us on this journey. And may God do immeasurably more than we can ask or even imagine!

Holy Saturday, April 19

Read Exodus 40

Congratulations for reaching the end of these 40 Days in God’s Word! The final three chapters fall on Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Holy Saturday. We will revisit one of the major themes of Exodus on each of these days and supplement it with an additional New Testament reading that connects Exodus with the life, death and resurrection of Christ.

The third great theme of Exodus is God becoming present with his people, Israel. What caught your attention in Exodus about God’s presence with the Israelites? Read John 1:14. How does reading Exodus affect your understanding of God being present in Jesus? Read also John 16:5-7 and 16:12-14. What do these verses suggest about God’s presence?

Congratulations on completing 40 Days in God’s Word!
